New England Weekend
What up peeps?? Guess where we are now? You won’t ever guess…so I’ll just tell ya. We are on I-95 driving through Stamford, CT on our way to Coventry, RI for the first stop on our New England swing. Can’t believe this will be our 3rd trip up here…unbelievable. Just traversed the Big Apple and once again were in awe of the traffic. It takes like two hours to go a few miles when at home in Tennessee we would be there in 15 minutes. Craziness for sure. Well worth the effort though…the folks up here give the south a run for it’s money where hospitality is concerned. Tonight we are with our friend Joe Hadfield and his event at Coventry High School…Saturday we will be feeling “capey” while staying in Chatham, MA and singing at Brewster Baptist Church. Saturday morning we’ll be getting to hear our friend Doug Scalise preach at Brewster Baptist (while getting the privilege to sing a song or two before), then we head Boston way to Sharon, MA with our dear friend Joe Fitzgerald and all his friends at Victory Assembly of God. It will all end too quick I know, but right now it’s all about the anticipation of what the good Lord has in store for us. Stay tuned!
Two weeks ago we all went back to Marty’s home town of Betsy Layne, KY (as far east in Kentucky as you can get before slipping over into West Virginia). Had an incredible weekend from all aspects. Wonderful to see Marty’s hometown again, great services at all 3 churches, and incredible hospitality from our hosts Tim and Dee Dee McCoy. Tim was Marty’s youth minister when he lived there and was there with him (and the youth group) the day he got saved. Special place full of special people.
Having a hard time typing on the bumpy roads full of stop and go traffic….so I’ll sign off for now. Real quick…we were just the recipient of a random act of kindness. Driving down the road here in Connecticut and random driver honked and got Darrell’s attention and told us about a local ordinance prohibiting trailers in the fast lane. Would have been very upset had we gotten pulled over for that…don’t know you dude…but thanks for caring enough to take the time to stop us.
For those who have bought our new Christmas CD…not sure I can completely attest for your sanity as you listen to White Christmas in August…but hey, no complaints here….thank you all from the bottom of our tinsel wrapped hearts. We wondered how it would be received so early and all, but those concerns are vanquished. Will be more appropriate when we hit Gatlinburg in November. Don’t forget to look up the details and book your trip early. Will be great fun as always.
Have an awesome weekend and we’ll catch you all on the flip side…
