Sitting around here with the guys at Scott’s house reviewing stuff for our new CD (will be a while…very early stages) listening to Josie make her little baby noises. I’m thinking about all the times we’ve done this through the years, where does the time go. Back when we got started my daughter and Darrell’s daughter were in elementary and looking forward to middle school, Marty’s kids were just starting school, and Josie wasn’t even a gleam in Scott’s eyes yet. Here we sit with my daughter Savannah graduating from high school this weekend, Darrell’s daughter Kenzie is going to be a senior, Marty’s kids Kam and Kenzi will both be in middle school and we all know about Josie. Unbelievable. We went to yet another funeral today…another one that hits too close to home. A good friend was taken in a car accident last Friday leaving two precious girls behind along with a grieving family and piles of friends. Brings it all into focus…first make peace with the Lord…then have no regrets, life is just too short. I’ve been to more funerals so far this year than I think I’ve been to in my entire life, and two of the folks were younger than I am…talk about a smack in the face. Be ready in all respects, tell everyone how much you love them every day…its just that simple. Pray for the Howard family…and squeeze the joy out of every last second of every day…it’s what Kevin did and would want from those of us left behind.
Update on Gatlinburg…we’re going of course! Check the page dedicated to the trip and then let us know your coming. We’ve moved to Pigeon Forge to help our wives get more shopping in…I think you’ll like the new joint. More info later, just mark your calendars for November 16th, 17th, and 18th…your still sitting there, I said go mark your calendars.
Looks like we WILL be having our annual Homecoming event in August again on the 4th. While you’re marking calendars….just go ahead and pencil that one in too. We’ll be giving out more detail there, but plan on the same time and place for those who’ve been there in the past.
Got this weekend off for (sniff) my baby to graduate high school, then it’s off to Southside in Indianapolis on May 20th…we’ll plan on seeing you all there!
